microBootlegger

In 1923 George Crouch designed a racing boat "Baby Bootlegger" for the Gold Cup speedboat race. His design ended up defining the signature look of the mahogany runabouts to follow. When I saw pictures of this boat I saw a kayak instead of a motorized racing vessel. My microBootlegger is the result. Taking the graceful form of the powerboat as inspiration I created a comfortable classic double paddle canoe.

Based on the lines of my microBootlegger tandem design which is in turn based on the 1923 George Crouch race boat "Baby Bootlegger", the Sport version is designed for the fit paddler who desires an efficient design for cruising or playing. This design is narrow enough to move through the water with minimum effort, and the stability to inspire confidence as the conditions build. A nice volume cockpit is roomy while still providing good contact to the paddler. The microBootlegger Sport is phenomenal all around kayak, suitable for lakes or open ocean.
